A poem written to remember our friend
You've played your last drum, sung your last song and hummed your last hum... On earth, I'm sure you'll continue in heaven. Gentle and kind, always searching around, seeking something that couldn't be found. On earth, maybe you'll find it in heaven.
Connected to many in so many ways, yet a gaping loneliness gnawed away, on earth, I pray you find belonging in heaven. Your smile and laughter could light up a room. Now you are gone -so sudden- so soon. From earth, I hope to see you in heaven. We wish we could share a meal once more. But you walked out that day and shut the door, Left this earth, we pray you rest in peace in heaven. RIP Moray. You were loved, treasured and will be missed immensely by all who walked with you on your journey on earth.
Jason and Jen xx
PS: Moray took his life, after a battle with mental illness, he was 57 and in the eyes of many had everything to live for. He was funny, caring, generous, talented, a good friend, a lover of Jesus, well connected and well surrounded by friends. But his mental health got bad after the first set of lockdowns in NZ 2020, and he didn't recover.
